From Surprise Proposal to “I Do” | Michelle & Michael’s Makapuʻu Beach Wedding
When I captured Michelle and Michael’s surprise proposal nearly a year ago, they instantly asked me to be their wedding photographer—and without hesitation, I said yes. As an Oahu wedding photographer, it’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do: telling stories that begin with raw emotion and grow into unforgettable milestones.
Fast forward to their wedding day at Makapuʻu Beach on the east side of Oahu—a location known for its dramatic cliffs, turquoise water, and golden light. Their intimate beach wedding in Hawaii was a dream. With the ocean breeze in the background and the waves crashing gently nearby, every detail was simple, beautiful, and full of meaning.
Their Hawaii wedding ceremony was led by the incredible Nicole Van Diver, one of the most heartfelt and intentional Oahu officiants I’ve had the pleasure of working with. Her presence and words brought so much warmth to the ceremony, making it feel deeply personal and memorable for everyone there.
From emotional vows to joyful laughter, every moment of the day reflected the love Michelle and Michael share—and I couldn’t have been happier to capture it all.
